We welcome all of you to the 91st Annual MVCAC Conference! We are so excited to see everyone next week! Please read through this email THOROUGHLY as there is a lot of useful information to help you navigate your time at the Disney hotel!

COVID Protocol
Currently, the state of California and Orange County are under no mandates for COVID measures. We continuously monitor the information on a daily basis to make sure we are in compliance as things are a bit fluid. As always, if you are not feeling well (regardless if it is COVID related) we do encourage you to use your best judgement in determining if you should be attending the conference.
Registration/Exhibit location and hours
Registration will be held in the pre function area outside the Ballroom and Exhibit hall at the Disney hotel
Hours:
Sunday January 29th 2:00-6:00 p.m.
Monday January 30th 7:00 a.m.- 4:00 p.m.
Tuesday January 31st – 7:00 a.m.- 2:00 p.m.
***5K runners please arrive by 1:45 PM to check in and walk over to the start line together. Once completed, come back and get your swag and drink ticket!
**Trustees, your session begins at 10 AM in the Adventure room at the hotel. Box lunches will be provided as you then head out on a bus for the tours in the OC (if bad weather we do have a backup plan). You can pick up your namebadges after you come back around 4 PM as we will have a sign in sheet at the trustee session. Please note, this session is SOLD OUT. If you do know now that you have any trustees not attending afterall please do let me know as we have others asking to be added.
Hotel Parking
Parking is available for both overnight guests and those coming in daily. Just let them know you are with the MVCAC Conference at the Disney hotel. Parking rates are $50 for valet and $35 for self parking daily regardless if you are staying overnight or coming just for the day. https://disneyland.disney.go.com/guest-services/parking/ (scroll to the bottom for parking specific to the hotel and note we do have a special price for valet).
Meals
We will provide lunch on Monday, and we encourage you to visit the posters at this time. Both days will feature all day coffee and some morning and afternoon snacks. We DO NOT have a full breakfast planned for either day. Lunch on Tuesday is on your own, but there are many options nearby to walk to.
Speakers
All speakers have been given the information on how to upload their talks ahead of time. We will once again have a speaker upload area at the conference adjacent to registration. If you are a speaker and have not received this information, please reach out ASAP. Gold card scanning
Please make sure to bring your gold card with to be scanned in for your sessions.
Volunteers are still needed!
Please use the link below if you are able to give a little bit of your time during the conference. Volunteers are the back bone of making this conference work so if you can help out, please do!
For those who have signed up, thank you so much! Please arrive to the registration desk 5 minutes before your shift so we can give you instructions and get the other volunteers on their way.
Tuesday Night Banquet
For those who will be joining us for the banquet, plan on fully embracing the Disney theme and wear your best Disney attire! (there may be a prize involved too!) We will also have a special guest joining us around 8:30 PM for some photo ops! The event is currently scheduled to be OUTSIDE. We do encourage you to bring a light sweater or jacket. If the weather is not permitting, we will move it inside.
Wednesday Board of Directors meeting
If you are planning on joining us at 9 AM in the Castle room, please indicate it here: Attendance Information.xlsx so we can provide enough seating and breakfast (hot breakfast provided)
Insect Photography Workshop
There is still room in this workshop, we will be happy to sign you up onsite. Snacks will be provided, along with a bus ride from the Disney hotel to the Orange County Mosquito and Vector Control District. Busses will pick up at the hotel by 1 PM.
Disneyland information
The booking link for discounted Disney tickets is still available here: https://www.mydisneygroup.com/GDMA23A. Downtown Disney is located right across the street from the hotel, over a very easy walkway. You do not have to have tickets to Disneyland to enjoy downtown Disney with shopping and lots to eat. There is a security checkpoint to get into Downtown Disney however. Downtown Disney Information
